The 2022 NFL Power Rankings have been released for weeks now, and with training camp on the horizon, football experts and media are making their predictions for the upcoming season. With the Buffalo Bills ranked at the top, is it fair to give Josh Allen the nod for MVP?
Josh Allen finished top-5 in the 2021 MVP race, and was one score away from leading the Bills to the AFC championship yet again. Aaron Rodgers won his fourth NFL MVP Award, while Tom Brady finished second with 40 votes.
This year, however, is a good chance that Josh Allen could win MVP.
The Bills and their QB Josh Allen has put the football world on notice the past couple seasons. Allen has had great success and if it weren’t for the future Hall of Fame Quarterbacks like Rodgers, Brady, and Mahomes, he would’ve won MVP honors already.
It is somewhat hard to see Rodgers win another MVP after the loss of his favorite target, Davante Adams, who was the Packers’ best offensive player other than the QB himself. Life without Adams will not be an easy one for Rodgers and company.
According to Pro Football Network, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are the betting favorites for the 2022 NFL MVP Award. These two quarterbacks have been playing at an extremely high level since entering the league, and there dual with one another has been some of the NFL’s greatest games – especially the 2022 AFC Divisional game.
Buffalo faced a heartbreaking 42-36 loss in OT against Kansas City last season in the Divisional Round. NFL experts and media called it the “game of the year”.
Allen posted MVP numbers in the 2022 Divisional game with 329 yards passing and four touchdowns. He had similar numbers to Mahomes and even had one more touchdown than the champion QB.
The Bills look for redemption this year, and they might just get it. The Chiefs have lost a lot of firepower on both sides of the ball with the shocking trades of Tyreek Hill and Tyrann Mathieu.
The 2022-2023 NFL season will be very interesting for the Kansas City Chiefs, who have dominated the AFC, since Mahomes has entered the league. The path through the AFC is going to become more difficult for the Chiefs after all of the offseason transactions for several teams, especially concerning Kansas City’s key losses.
The Buffalo Bills are now the AFC favorites, and this time around they might just be Super Bowl favorites as well. Can Josh Allen lead his team to their first ever Super Bowl?
