A couple weeks ago, I came across the tastiest blonde ale at the nearby liquor store, which turned out to be a gold mine of craft beer. The Belching Beaver’s PB&J Blonde is one of the most fascinating light beers I have tried to this day.

This sweet, smooth, and nutty blonde is certainly one of a kind. This unique, grape-jelly taste is reminiscent of the brewery’s famous Peanut Butter Milk Stout.

The PB&J Blonde really is the “daytime brethren” that the brewing company identifies their popular milk stout with, a perfect balance of flavor and sweetness. This beer does a great job with enticing a cookie-like palate with a fruity after taste.

The cashier at the liquor recalled this beer to even taste like “Reese’s Puffs Cereal”, even though it is a blonde, it still very much consists of peanut butter and chocolate.

It really reminds me of drinking a blonde porter! Yum.

Belching Beaver did a great job adding the grape jelly flavor to give it a perfect blend with the peanut butter – not too much fruit, but just the right amount. I agree that this beer is like
having a mid-day snack, light but delicious, reminiscent of the famous childhood sandwich.

This is a great daytime brew mainly because of the light taste and body, helping you steer away from that “afternoon drowsiness”. The 5.5% ABV is just a reminder that this is mainly consumed for taste, rather than the buzz.
