The MLS is to obtain yet another European star, after Fabrizio Romano reported that the Italy legend, Giorgio Chiellini, is set to sign with LAFC. Chiellini announced earlier this month that he would be moving on from Juventus at the end of the season.
The 37-year-old defender, Chiellini, is third on Juventus’ all-time appearances list behind Alessandro Del Piero and Gianluigi Buffon, according to ESPN. The Livorno transfer to Juventus in 2004, was a match made in heaven for Juve, as they went on to win nine league titles, and five Italian Cups during Chiellini ‘s time in Turin.
Not only will Giorgio Chiellini will make his conclusion with Juventus, but also he will make his final appearance for Italy when the Euro 2020 winners take on Argentina at Wembley on Wednesday.
Chiellini left everything he had on the pitch for the Turin giants, saying “We had these 10 magnificent years, it is up to the others to continue now,” he said at the time. “I did everything I could, I hope that I left something.”

Yes, he is going to be a veteran transfer, and is at the back end of his career, but no doubt LAFC is still getting a world class defender in Chiellini.
Throughout the years, the MLS has changed dramatically, especially with the help of acquiring the European star players. Now Chiellini adds to the list of some of the best footballers from the elite European league to sign with the MLS.
Some of MLS’ European stars include David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Thierry Henry, and more.
