I’m not really sure if I get that espresso taste with this beer. I almost feel like the stout has a sour bite to it, which I’m not really a fan of, and kind of noticed that it’s sort of a theme at this brewery.
I have a small hint of coffee on the aftertaste, but just a hint. You have to concentrate on finding that espresso flavor, because it doesn’t hit right away when trying this beer.
So far Quarry has been impressive with their new additions, but wasn’t too pleased with this one. I would just say it’s ok, which isn’t too great for how much I adore coffee, and stouts.
I’m not sure how else to explain trying this one, but it comes off as sour, I don’t know where that comes from…it just definitely needs more coffee. The owner Liza sure likes the Cappuccino Stout, but I just wasn’t too thrilled about it.
