This pumpkin ale exceeded my expectations immediately with just a sniff of the taster glass. Chuck added, “Imagine pumpkin pie with a spoon full of whipped cream.”
I would definitely would say this is the best pumpkin ale I’ve ever had, by far (mainly because I’m not a big fan of pumpkin in my beer). You could pretty much call this a pumpkin pie ale, or dessert.
Yes this is a sweet beer, but Chuck added, it is also good mixed with their “Open Pit Porter”, which gives a smoky, almost burnt crust flavor. Apparently his mother loved to cook, even though she wasn’t the best at it, and her baking turnt out to be burnt most of the time.
The brewer added this beer is also good mixed with the “Open Cab Copper”, which gives for more of a sweeter profile. The Open Cab gives a caramel taste, and is a great Irish ale to taste in general that’s a medium bodied beer.
Come try this glass of sweetness if your in the area, compliment your Christmas holiday with some Thanksgiving dessert. Yum.
