What’s better on your birthday than a goal?

Happy Birthday to Alex Morgan, for the star USWNT forward, scores the game winning goal against England Tuesday night. Alex Morgan makes a royal celebration, sipping her tea, as she should on her special day.

While Morgan’s celebration may offend some Brits, it was only fitting, for she earned that moment.

Morgan leads the tiebreaker with England’s striker, Ellen White, for the race on the Golden Boot with six goals this World Cup. Morgan is ahead of White, however, courtesy of having more assists.

Alex Morgan is one more goal away from winning the Golden Boot.

USA, now, has over nine different scorers this World Cup. This US women’s team showed their depth, in which will be crucial for them moving on forward.

Reporter Alex Curry caught up with the birthday girl and your player of the match after the game. Morgan touched on the heart, and fight, from her team tonight, and especially the goalkeeper – Alyssa Naeher

“I think that we’ve been just seeing it through the tournament, and this is just one more we can add to,” said Morgan. “Just incredible by the team tonight, and Alyssa Naeher, she needs to be player of the match – honestly like she saved our a**.”

Morgan let a word slip in her interview, but her emotions were well deserved, for the USWNT are advancing to the World Cup Final.

Questions were being raised for the USWNT as they hit the pitch Tuesday, for they were missing one of their top goal scorers, Megan Rapinoe, due to injury. Head Coach, Jill Ellis, silenced those questions with a great game-plan up front.

The US star forward (Morgan) stepped up big and so did the other forward, Christian Press, who replaced Megan Rapinoe. Press scored the first goal (10′) of the game on a wonderful set piece, and giving the team confidence early on.

This was a great team win for the USWNT, for the headlines included Morgan, as well as players stepping up like – Press, and Naeher.
