NBA Trade Rumors report Oklahoma City Thunder to hit the restart button with plans on shipping Russell Westbrook to Boston.
Thundered; The 2016 NBA offseason wipes out OKC’s star-power roster like a tornado, as their second franchise player is set for another destination: most likely the Boston Celtics, according to NBA GM’s.
This NBA Free Agency Frenzy continues; but, really — could Boston really land Westbrook?
NBA Executives around the league say that Thunder GM Sam Presti plans to trade Westbrook before the 2016-2017 season begins.
While the Celtics may be the frontrunner for the Westbrook, there are some obstacles Boston and other interested teams must hurdle – teams may able to pick him up for a bargain of $17M, but will have to risk seeing him hit the open market next summer. Who is going to pick up Westbrook’s 1-year rental?
It seems like a perfect “no risk, no reward”, scenario for Boston and other NBA Free Agency-hungry teams.

Aspiring sports journalist, it began with my studies in Broadcast Journalism at CSUN. LA Native, now 26 years old. I'm absolutely crazy about sports, and would say it is definitely my passion. I played soccer all my life, and football at Hart High. I hope one day to continue my football dreams as a professional kicker, either CFL, Arena Football, and maybe one day the NFL.
