The divine and dammed tell the story for the New England Patriots, and this 2019 NFL offseason.

The defending Super Bowl Champions are revamped with the return of wide receiver, Josh Gordon, but more importantly it is the about the revival of the star himself. Gordon, was once again, suspended indefinitely by the NFL last season for violating the terms of his reinstatement under the substance abuse policy.

Gordon also released a statement indicating he was taking time away from the game to focus on his mental health. He had numerous suspensions from the league, and last season, the football world wondered if it was going to be his last.

Taking time away to clear his head, was probably one of the best things for the Gordon.

The former 2nd round pick in the 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft, Gordon, took the league by storm in his sophomore season –  receiving 1,646 yards, averaging 117.6 a game, and a record-long 95-yard reception. His athletic ability was on full display, as well as his gifted size and speed, very similar to Julio Jones.

Gordon played well his first three years, however, his numbers dropped dramatically only because he was not on the field.

The Pats star had missed 2 ½ seasons with the Browns, just after having great success with the team, being invited to the Pro Bowl, and named First-Team All-Pro.  The Browns finally had enough of Gordon, and decided to part ways, but thanked him with a great opportunity to go to a winning team like the Patriots.

Gordon didn’t miss a step after being traded, finding his chemistry with Tom Brady in a hurry – racking up 14 receptions, 237 receiving yards, and a touchdown in the end zone over two defenders. If the Pro Bowl wide receiver can stay on the field, and stay out of trouble, the sky is the limit.

Now, Josh Gordon down, and its Rob Gronkowski left for the Patriots. Once this happens, they are back to their scary, championship form.

It looks like we might have to see this team, yet again, in the AFC Championship or ugh, maybe even the Super Bowl.
