Janet Guthrie inspires in ESPN’s Film ‘Qualified’

ESPN’s 30 for 30, “Qualified”, symbolizes boundary breaking race car driver Janet Guthrie, and how she became a remodel for women all over the world.  She inspired men and women all with her racing, competing with the best of the best in the biggest stage in the sport.

As the first women to drive both the Indianapolis 500 and Dayton 500, Janet Guthrie knew she not only had to prove herself as a driver, but overcome stereotypes as well.

Guthrie continued to silent her critics all career long, ignoring any sort of backlash and proving doubters with her elegance on the racetrack.

Even though I am not a fan of the sport necessarily, I fell in love with this documentary and could see myself possibly watching racing in the Janet Guthrie era. ESPN did it again with another incredible installment of the 30 for 30 film series, Qualified, is a must watch.

Guthrie’s story is a true inspiration, and highlights the message, “if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything.”
